Photography styles
Wedding photography is more creative and adventurous than in the past. Many photographers offer a range of photographic styles and formats, including black and white, candid or impromptu shots, and formal group photography. You should know what kind of photographic record you are looking for when you decide on your wedding photographer.
POSSIBLE STYLES OR APPROACHES INCLUDE:
- Traditional - These are a collection of formal group photographs as well as other more informal and candid shots.
- Storybook - this captures all the different stages of the day. The bride getting ready, getting into car, candid shots through the day, the ceremony, signing the marriage license, early shots at the reception, and so on.
- Reporting - These photographs have an impromptu snap-like quality, which belies the technical skill required to take them.
- Black and white - Black and white photographs have a romantic quality that is an ideal way to capture special wedding day moments. However be sure to have other coloured photography also. Some photographers colour enhance black and white photographs for very interesting effect.
